Happy Advent, dear readers!

This is our weekend to put up the Christmas tree! Today, we went and picked out our tree, and now it is happily standing in our living room. It currently has lights, but no other decorations. We’ll do that tomorrow.

I also got the bulk of the shopping done, gifts wrapped, etc. I don’t know if I’ve ever been this on top of things! A special thanks goes to my mom and dad, who kept the kids so Mark and I could sneak off and go shopping. 😉

I love this season, when we get to set aside an entire month to focus on our Lord’s birth. I can’t comprehend why God would send His Son for the likes of me, but I’m so glad He did. This is cause for a huge celebration – God loved us so much that He gave His Son.

So, I say, haul out the holly! I wish each of you a blessed Advent season and a joyous Christmas.

I also have a bit of other news. I will be interviewed live on Blog-Talk Radio on Tuesday morning. 7 a.m., my time (Central Standard). Eric Canaday, author, radio host, and all-around great guy will be interviewing me, and I’d like to invite you to join us!

Now, I must confess to you. I was a bit hesitant about inviting you, my friends. I haven’t ever done a live interview before. Will I sound like Minnie Mouse? Will my southern accent make me sound . . . funny? Will I sit there in silence every time he asks me an intelligent question?

I don’t know. I just don’t know.

But after a bit of internal debate, I finally decided that I would love to have you, my friends, there to support me. And the wonderful thing about radio is I can’t see you. So if I totally embarrass myself and all of you, you can pretend you didn’t even hear, and I’ll never know. 😉

Here is the link for more information.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend filled with the joy of Christmas, and the joy of Christ!

I checked this out and set it up to remind me tomorrow about the broadcast at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, but I’m not totally sure what I’m doing, Renae! It looks like maybe I can go in later and hear it after the fact, too. Is that right, do you know?

I think so, Jeanette. But I’m new to this, too! I do think you can listen to the podcast later, though. 🙂

Okay, good. This should be very interesting, and I’m looking forward to it!

I’ll do my best to be there -8:00 a.m. EST.
Do I just go to the Blog Radio website?

    Looking forward to it.

I don’t knooooooooow, girlies! I looked at it too and tried to listen to a previous broadcast just to check it out — it said something about it being outdated.

Me fears I shall miss this one! What can we do about this?!

    Renae, you are a song-writer????

Jean, I’m pretty sure you have to call in. I’ve done it once before, and it seems like you go to the link, find the show “Christianity Unplugged”, and call the number that is there. I think. It will give you directions that morning when you go to the link.

And Carol-Ann, I’m not sure either. I will have to ask Eric about that.

Yes, I am a singer and song-writer, though those are rather dormant talents. Believe it or not, I actually went to college on a music scholarship. That seems like another lifetime ago!

Hey Renae, I had no idea you are also a singer and song-writer. Very cool! Best of luck on the interview — I know you’ll do great. I’d be interested in finding out how we can listen in after the fact, too.

I did ask Eric, and he said yes, it will be recorded. If it works as it should, I’ll put a link here to the recording. How’s that?
