Bragging Rights

Tonight, I am one proud mama. My daughter played the lovely Rapunzel in her musical. Her role was a comedy role, and she truly had the audience in stitches!

My daughter the stand-up comic. Every mother’s dream . . .

But honestly, she hit every note exactly as it was supposed to be sung, she spoke every line as if she were actually living it . . . and she looked stunning in her costume! (Okay, am I bragging too much?)

To be perfectly honest, I was impressed with the entire cast. Remember, these were a bunch of kids up there! But they brought the house down. Each and every one gave a splendid performance.

AGONY (as sung by Rapunzel’s prince . . .)

High in a tower she sits by the hour

Maintaining her hair . . .

Blithe and becoming and frequently humming a light-hearted aire

(La, la, la, la, la)

Agony! Far more painful yours, when you know she would go with you . . .

If there only were doors.

I wish you all could have been there. It was an absolutely stellar performance! But since you couldn’t be, *here is a video* just for you. Hope you enjoy it!

Have a blessed weekend!

Well, I clicked on the video and was entertained by the watching of the entire thing. However, I was keenly disappointed that this was not a home You Tube of the REAL thing! Applause for your Mademoiselle!

    Well Renae!
I have never heard that version of Rapunzel or if I have, I don’t remember it…it took me back to my childhood 🙂
And mom’s bragging rights are entirely justified…that’s part of what moms do right?! 😉
    ~mp:)
Smiles and Blessings to your day!

Thanks, you guys! Glad you liked the video. It wasn’t the actual version that she performed, but I still thought it was cute.

Carol-Ann, with what you know of my technical skills, did you honestly expect a you-tube video? LOL

    Hugs to you both. 🙂

It’s okay to be a proud Mama, Renae 🙂 I’ve been one many times 🙂 So glad it was such a great experience for all!

I’m sure my hubby must have thought — well, I’m not at all sure what he thought, as he is not forthcoming with such things! — to see me giggling while watching that amazing fairytale!! I had forgotten just how it went and how absolutely fairytale-ish it is!

I’m so glad all went well and the performances have been a total success! Wish I could have been there! I am sure Charis was much, much more beautiful and talented than the gorgeous Rapunzel in the video clip! 😉

Oh, Jeanette! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching your husband watch you! Isn’t that a fun video? There were several Rapunzel ones, but Charis liked that one the best. 🙂

And yes, she was breathtaking, if I do say so myself! 😉

Oh, Cheryl, Thanks for giving me permission to brag a little! She really did make my heart pop open! I was so proud. AM proud. She is such a good girl.

    And a natural drama-queen.

No idea where she gets the drama-queen tendencies. (Ahem.)

    😉

Drama queens? I’ve got a houseful! Hope she had a wonderful time, and I’m with you on the bragging. Anytime The Singer performed I woud take on the mantle of Judy Garland’s mother……

Hi Jackie! With your lot, you could rent out your own hall and create your own musical . . . perhaps you should write one about your life! 😉

    Renae, Renae!
What are we gonna do with you?
Somehow we are going to have to help you improve those “technical skills”!
