I John 3:1a “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! . . .”
Wow! Even though I live as a child of God each and every day, I still have difficulty wrapping my mind around the significance of my status as God’s child. God, the Creator of the universe, the One who put the stars into place has chosen to adopt me, and to give me the same rights and privileges as His own biological Son. God, the King of Heaven and Earth, calls me His daughter! He lets me call Him Daddy. He allows me to enter into His glorious presence any time I want to, because I have that right.
Satan wants us to forget we are God’s children. He follows us around and whispers in our ears that we are worthless, that we are no good. He reminds us of the awful things we have done or experienced in our pasts. But remember, Satan is full of lies. And his goal is to destroy us.
The next time you start feeling unworthy or depressed, recognize those thoughts as the whispers of the devil. Remind both him and yourself that you are a child of the Almighty God, and then run to your Father for comfort, encouragement, and strength! Hold your head high, and let your attitudes and actions be a worthy representation of your heritage as God’s child.
Dear Father, Thank you for making me Your child. Please let my life be a reflection of the great love You have lavished on me.
Amen
What a great picture, Renae. And just as precious as this little girl is, we are precious to our heavenly Father. I need to remember that!!
